Standing before hundreds of adults in the part of the Classic Center where industries hold trade shows, and bands like Widespread Panic give concerts, the two dozen members of the Hope for Africa Children's Choir look tiny.

But the little ones' exuberance quickly overshadows their size.
"I just could not sit down while they were singing," said the Rev. Karen Lyon, who saw the children's choir Tuesday as a part of the opening service of the annual convention of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.
"They brought something out in everybody, regardless of age, race or the church you belong to," added Lyon, who pastors Cliftondale United Methodist Church in College Park.
The children, who traveled from Nassutti Mukono in Uganda, performed at the conference's opening communion service Tuesday - energizing a crowd was worn out from walking around in the 95-degree afternoon.
"I could use some of that energy, and some of that exuberance," said Frank Nix, who came from Dawsonville for the convention.
All 4 to 9 years old, the choir members are in the midst of a one-month tour of the Southeast, earning money for Humble Place United Methodist Primary School, which they will attend next year.
